Oh sorry@J A. 🇱🇧🇺🇸, I read that wrongly. I was looking at EB3. Yeah, you are current. What was the reason that USCIS has given to you for this delay?

@Rijo Rijo I believe it was due to the Texas Service Center drastically reducing the number of I-485 transfers to NBC last year. My case remained at Texas for 6 months with no one looking at it and then in December of 2023, they did a mass transfer of thousands of I-485 applications to NBC, including mine. After my case has been transferred to NBC I started seeing some movement (RFE, transfer to field office, etc.).

@J A. 🇱🇧🇺🇸, WoW! Good to know that something is happening for you now! Was the Feb 6 RFE for medicals? And how fast is the field office in Santa Ana?

@Rijo Rijo no they asked me to submit the I-485J to make sure that I’m still working for the company that sponsored my EB green card. I submitted with the RFE my original birth certficiate as I hadn’t submitted it with the original packet and wanted to avoid a second RFE. Honestly I have no idea how fast the Santa Ana office is, I saw some people on reddit mentioning that they received their approval 4-8 weeks after their application was transferred to the Santa Ana office. I hope that I will have a similar timeline.

@J A. 🇱🇧🇺🇸, I see. So, you had submitted i485 earlier? Are you not concerned about it expiring? How will you get your original birth certificate back? And did you get RFE for public charge? So many people got that recently. Fingers crossed, Santa Ana office responses soonest!

@Rijo Rijo you mean my medicals? yes i submitted them with my initial I-485 package. They won’t expire before July 2025 so I should be good. I meant that I submitted a copy of my original birth certificate. I didn’t get an RFE for public charge although I hadn’t filled the section initially. But I resubmitted the section to USCIS as part of the I-485J RFE I received in February to avoid receiving a second RFE.

PD June 2023. EB1-A- I submitted I485 in Jun 2023 and still waiting

@T L July 2023, approved in 10 days with premium processing

@J A. 🇱🇧🇺🇸 so, you say that your i485 was awaiting transfer for 6 months. well, so premium process did not make a difference… my i485 was transferred the following day after my i140 was approved in 6 months of regular proccessing.

@T L exactly, premium didn’t make sense in my case unfortunately
