I received an RFE for birth certificate, despite my birth certificate being included with the initial I-485 application. I resubmitted the same birth certificate with a covering letter explaining it was included with original I-485 application. I also included a print from the Department of State website regarding document reciprocy and how my birth certificate complies with their guidelines for acceptance. I did this as the RFE was not clear on why they were requesting my birth certificate. RFE response was received by USCIS on March 30th, my case status was updated to show receipt. Since then, no further updates, no further RFE, and no decision on my case. Its been around 67 days since they received my response. Are you in the same situation?

@Mr BD same here, we resubmitted same documents. I requested the translator’s business certificate, and added that as well this time.

same here, out of 3 of us, they asked only for my own birth certificate. my PD is Feb 10, 2023.

Usually, if you’re birth was registered years after you’re born. You should have a document explaining the reason for your late birth registration. Also, have your eldest, relative who was present or knew about your birth depose in court affidavit that there are aware or present at your birth. This supporting documents is used most times to respond to such RFE. I hope this helps.

@Mr Whiz my lawyer said that there’s a big possibility that Uscis lost the documents. meanwhile, I’ve found out that on scanned paperwork some of the dates were not clear enough. I requested the translator to scan them again and share their certificate as well this time.

@JaneDo3 ☺️ okay sounds good. When I submitted my application, I submitted them along with those supporting documents I mentioned earlier to avoid RFE because my birth was registered late and I didn’t get any RFE. Cheers

@Mr BD Yes, I am in thesame situation. USCIS received my response to the birth certificate RFE on March 18 and till date there has been no further update, not even EAD.

I am expecting RFE for medical but I get RFE for birth certificate marriage certificate and current job maintain legal stay in USA submitted my documents.i need to know they can again send RFE for medical or what's next????
