Approved!!!
Alhumdulillah!!! Finally it was our turn. Me and my family , all three of us got approved today . We sent a medical RFE but after that there wasn’t any update until I received a call from my lawyer saying that we have been called for an interview. I was worried since we already sent them medical RFE so why would they call for an interview!!!
Our interview was today (Nov 21st) and the officer asked a lot of questions regarding our status in USA. The officer was trying to make sure that we never went out of status during our stay here. The interview went on for about 30 minutes. He asked for our drivers license,current passports and old passport where we have the USA visa stamped , asked about my job back home as well as what job I am supposed to do here for my sponsor . After the interview we were told that we should receive an update about their decision by tomorrow. However after around 30 minutes, USCIS app shows @ New card is being produced “ for all three of us. Alhumdulillah!!!

@Rom Sin did they asked that you receive EAD but what are you doing now? why don’t you work for sponsor ?! how did you manage to stay without job?

@Mk Asif Yes, they asked if I m working now and who I work for? I told them I am working as a Uber driver. they asked when did I start and I replied after I got the work permit. They didn’t ask me why I m not working for my sponsor. ( My lawyer told me beforehand that I am not required by law to work for sponsor until I get my GC. )

@Rom Sin can you tell after how many days of notice of “case is ready to be scheduled for an interview” you got actually notice in mail about the interview appointment and how many days you got to prepare for the interview ?

@eb3 other My status never went to “ case is ready to be scheduled for an interview “. The last status before today was “ RFE sent” . Even after I sent the medical RFE back to USCIS, the status never changed. I received a call last Thursday ( one week before the interview) from my lawyer that we have been called for an interview for today ( Nov 21st).

@Benjamin Basim According to my lawyer, you can start working for your employer after or before you get your green card. It’s totally your decision.

@yellow banana 🍌 As far I know there’s no one year contract (unless if you have signed one with your employer). The term is “ In good faith “ , which means USA govt believes you will work for your sponsor after you get approved. Again, talk to your lawyer for any questions or suggestions. Since I am just someone like you here , we don’t know or have misconception about many things.

@helen helen If you are a student then after your graduation, you get 2 years OPT (Work Permit) where you have to work in a related field. My wife got her OPT and was working for Bank of America while she was on OPT.

@H H My case was processing at TSC. it was transferred to NBC long time ago and then there wasn’t any update after that for long time !!! I m so glad finally it’s approved. It’s a relief!!! Hope all of you get approved soon. I know how frustrating it can be !!!

@Da Da As I have mentioned in my post above, it was a medical rfe, since the one I submitted earlier while fling , was expired.

@H H It was TSC… They transferred my case to Houston field office 10 days before my interview which was on November 21st

hi guys my Priority Date:18FEB2022 any idea when we will get interview I’m in canada and visa office is Montreal, and my case is in NVC. one more question is there any way can I move to US and apply to change my status and live there because I’m Canadian Citizen and I don’t need visa to US, if yes so I can wait in us for my next step plz advise appreciate that.
