Boundless vs Migration Lawyer
A friend of mine recommended us boundless to prepare our green card documentation. To be honest, I loved boundless, it has a super user friendly interface to fill out all relevant information one time only and they review it multiple times, they respond and give feedback very fast, and there’s a layer who also reviews it. the process is super fast and very easy. I had a much better experience than when I help my parents prepare their applications with a layer.
But recently, I’ve noticed that the application of some of my friends who have use boundless, and my application, is taking a long time, and the application of another friend, who use a lawyer, took only four months. I’ve also seen here many approvals in less than 6 months, which is very frustrating for us (although I’m happy for the people who get their GC fast) but not sure who helped with the application. I know my observations are limited to the people I know, but I was wondering if there is a correlation between who helps you to prepare the application and the processing time. So, I decided to bring this question to this community to get more insights - let me know in your comments and the poll.
To everyone (and to me), good luck in your applications, and hoping they get approve soon. The wait is SO frustrating.

Unfortunately, I personally don’t think who help with your applications is the factor that your cases would be processed sooner or later. I think it helps if you have a good lawyer to help you through all that you need to submit and is knowledgeable and responsible. Same as any app or website, if they are designed to get you through the application with less effort on your end. However, once you send it out, it’s all about USCIS and their non-transparent process and practice. Which in a way, I understand, because there’s part of national security concerns involved and they do what’s best for them, not us. If they’re all clear about how they make decisions, they’re going to have lots of trouble with more angry people.
I have friends who went with a website and friends went with a lawyer. I did everything on my own because I like to know what’s going on and am willing to read through all instructions and do research. Thus I’m happy with my submission without any help. Some of my cases approved also super fast, so that means I probably wasn’t doing anything wrong. It did take me a long time from starting to download the applications to actually submitting and sent out. However, it only because of my procrastination, not because I did it on my own. If I were not that lazy, I could’ve done it within a very short time, but that still wouldn’t change the fact that I have no idea when the rest of my cases would get approved at the USCIS.
I think everyone has different timeline no matter how similar any two or even more people might have exactly same backgrounds on their filing. It’s up to what we want to do to give ourself that peace of mind!
Good luck with your journey, and thank you so much for sharing!!! Hope we all get to the end soon!😉

In all honesty immigration stuffs is a game of luck and God's grace🙏 irrespective of whether you use a lawyer, website,YouTube or doing it yourself but one thing I can confirm is that whenever you send your application with all respective evidences and proof as well as medical your case process faster because you will forgo getting an RFE which slows most cases and adjudication process

@S L Thank you for your comment and your perspective. I guess the frustration of waiting has make me thing that there is something wrong in my application, and I want to know what it is. But you’re right, this is probably not about us. When you mentioned that they need to safeward national security, and I guess that’s one of their guiding principles. thank you for giving me some peace of mind. I just need to keep my mind occupied in other things and be patient.
And again, good luck with your application. I hope it gets approve soon.

@Jd Castro I’m totally with you right there!! I also want my case to go as fast as what I’ve seen some others’ go. I have to keep reminding myself that don’t compare because there’s so many different factors affecting the processing time. I also didn’t want to let it control me because I’ve come so far and it’s just waiting right now. There were some years I tried so hard and couldn’t even get a chance, I had hopes and promises, but got turned down at the end for several years. And the stress and anxiety that I experienced was really not worth it and I never wanted to go through it again.
So I’m really glad that you want to find things to enjoy in life while waiting because that’s also right to do, and I’m trying to do the same. I hope so many friends up here would try to focus on other things in their life as well. After all, life goes on, and the energy we wasted anxiously focusing on these timelines, it could be used on creating great memories and taking care of ourselves!
I’m not saying I won’t check on it daily. 😂 But at least not let it be my only focus in life.
I like the post with questions and information you brought up, I really prefer a discussion like this than answering questions like how long we have to wait. Not that we don’t want to know, it’s like some don’t want to research but just want someone who has no control over to promise them a time. But at the end, I understand because I would have the same questions, but knowing no one can give me the exact or correct answer here so I don’t really ask.
Thank you for your kind wishes, wishing you for the same!!
