Can my wife come with our infant baby to the I-485 interview?
Hi, Has anyone ever went to the I-485 interview with their babies? We have an interview coming up soon and my lawyer said we don’t have to bring our 7 months old daughter to the interview yet we don’t have a babysitter, and the person who can stay with her on that day has an exam. I called USCIS and the lady who picked up didn’t give me a straight answer, she said it will depend on the office we are going to that she doesn’t see where it says that babies ain’t supposed be brought to the interviews.

I am in same boat. But heard they don’t want babies on Interview. We need to bring their birth certificate. So the answer is no babies Aks your/wife best friend or family member to keep eye on baby that day for couple hours while you are on interview

Just pay a part time nanny for that day only. Better than reschedule.

same here, dunno if to take our eight year old daughter plus I’m heavily pregnant

@tata I don’t think u can do that, as u can see here, everyone is against it , my baby is 7 months but my lawyer asked us not to take her, and have completed my research and everyone’s answer is “don’t go with the child”. so u can leave your daughter with a nanny or with a family member or friend. we also have no option but to travel to new York to take our daughter to stay with her aunt which we didn’t want to do but we got no choice we don’t wanna risk

the interview is for person who becoming a resident to answer questions. while babies may be beneficiaries, they do not answer questions, infact they distract from the interview and make it last longer than it needs to, taking up time resources that can go to other interviews. also with the pandemic most applicants will enter interviews alone. so find a sitter.
