reinstatement is a 50/50 chance and it takes forever for them to even consider or approve it. he can as well use that reinstatement as option 1.

yeah I know, if you go to be web or Google. reinstatement usually take a while. so waiting for reinstatement kinda still make his out of status counting even though he submitted for reinstatement. reinstatement is not like filing for green card or any immigration benefit which allows you stay while your application is pending. reinstatement is different

it all depends on the reason why we are applying for reinstatement…. first thing to consider is to strongly prove the situation is beyond your control… and no violations except the reason provided which is not in student’s control… in my case I finished my grad in 2019 October… while applying for OPT my DSO gave me an expired i20 which lead to the opt denial… my university recommended reinstatement and they are not taking any fees from me for the second masters program…

situation of falling out of status shouldn’t be your fault or it must have occurred due to severe illness (strongly supported by the local physician)… DSO’s error no unauthorized employment (have to produce documents such as bank statements to show the source of income)
