Drivers Licence
Hi, I am in the US, Virginia from Nov21 on marriage based visa. I am waiting for my i485 or EAD approval. My i94 is expired, but I got notice from USCIS about my AOS. Can I drive without US driver's licence? I have international one form Europe. Tried to go to DMV, but the only scanned the AOS notice and told me that they would let me know withing 10 days. As usual with me, 15 days passed and no one let me know. What should I do? I really need to drive. Thank you.

you can drive your with an international license if it’s valid
I would also try calling the DMV again to see there are any updates

Thank you for the answers. My international licence is hopefully valid. I've had it for 5 months, it should be good for 12. I live in Virginia. I will try to go there again. Do you know for how long the US lice is gonna be valid?

I live in VA, if an international driving license means a driving license you get from a foreign country then you can use it for 6 months. You can apply for a driving license based on I-485 notice, they will issue a driving license for 1 year

while you might be able to drive legally, check with insurance. because those are the ones who might not want to cover you after 60 days on an international license.

@tom turan As I said, they said they won't let me do that. Next time I can ask for their name and file a complaint or something I don't know what to do I am hopeless.

I had the same issue in NC. DMV gave me initial DL based on I485 NOA valid for 6 months only. After the 6 months have passed I could not renew my DL until I got my EAD so I could not drive for a while. Odd rules but we need to obey them unfortunately....I could not use my home country DL for more than 6 months after moving to NC.
