EB1 Approval Tumeline
Hi All, sharing this so it may help someone. Submission was not concurrent and happened while I140 was still pending but had been bumped to premium processing about 2 weeks earlier. I693 was submitted with the packet. Did not get any RFE on I485. I140 was approved about 2 weeks after I485 submission but way before the I485 Receipt notices were generated. Case was approved at NBC and did not move to FO. PD was current all through.

@saurabh gupta There was an AMA on the USCIS reddit where the officer noted that EB 485 approval speed can vary based who the employer or I140 petitioner is. Another thing that can change the timeline is if ends up at a FO. If it does then it would typically follow the FOs processing time. No one knows what factors into the decision on whether it should go to FO or not. Some have posted that Level 2 have told them that straight forward cases may never go to FO.

@P S - Mine had been at FO (non-local) since Oct 2024. Status went jnto CRP a day before I485J was approved.
P SFeb 4, 2025
@saurabh gupta That would be strange and reason to call them assuming your PD has been current since the beginning

@P S congratulations! must be a huge relief and thanks for sharing your journey, helpful indeed. did you also have dependents in your application? do you know if their cases also got approved from NBC or did they go to field office?
P SFeb 4, 2025
@battling giants thank you. Dependent yes. All processed at the same time at NBC.
saurabh guptaFeb 4, 2025
@P S - Yes, it has always been current since I485 was filed. attorney has raised an SR. ETA is 21-Feb.

@saurabh gupta this definitely looks like an error. Good luck.
