EB2-NIW Case Delayed for 479 days: Anyone Else?
Hi everyone, my case has been stuck in 'Case Was Received' status for 479 days. We raised a service request, but nothing has changed. Is anyone else experiencing similar delays? Is this the norm now? Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated! #EB2 #NIW #EB2-NIW #Texas

Don’t worry too much @Sidique Gawusu about the status of your case being listed as "Received" versus "Actively Reviewed." According to many attorneys you can easily check online, both statuses indicate that your case is being processed and is currently in someone’s office or on a computer. It’s common for cases to progress to adjudication without changing to "Actively Reviewed." Regarding timelines, it typically takes over 400 days (around 13 months) for 80% of cases to be processed, and the remaining 20% can take up to 2 years. I have been in the "Actively Reviewed" status since the beginning and have also passed the 13-month mark. Additionally, I submitted a service request and received a generic response, similar to what many others have experienced. At this point, the best thing we can do is exercise patience. In one of the previous bulletins, it was mentioned that there is a priority for cases that are ready for Adjustment of Status (AOS) and Premium Processing (PP). Based on my personal experience—which is not an official source—this is the current situation, and you are not alone in facing these delays.

Try out the case assistance service.. https://www.dhs.gov/topic/cis-ombudsman/forms/7001. I watched a Youtube video a while ago and it seemed that it worked for the person.

@Sidique Gawusu same here. 427 days and my case is in Texas Office too. Filed e-request 2 weeks ago and got the "standard response" today stating: "we appreciate your continued patience". It's a government agency and it is impacted by political movements - especially during times when the immigration was the focal point of the election. To understand the scenario, we need to understand what's happening in the political spectrum. Unfortunately, there's no other way and we will never understand the exact criteria for prioritising some cases over others.
