My advance parole is approved and is currently in status CASE WAS APPROVED for 30 days now. I have still not got the travel document on hand

may I ask you what kind of emrgency is this .i have my grandmother is sick and from 2018 im in the US as my visa expired .i applied for I 131 just 40 days ago but i dont know how do that.like what disease can be apporved quickely my grandmother has Parkinson can i use that ?thanks in advance Kitty Kat

@moe oak My mom had a massive heart attack. the letter from the hospital mentioned that it was a complete heart block and that she is on a ventilator in critical condition. I also took all other documents that the hospital provided including medical actions taken. So unless it’s an immediate emergency they won’t do accept — but if you do try make sure the letter from the hospital clearly dictates the critical nature of the medical situation and have a line saying “we recommend close family members including (your name) to be present in person as soon as possible”

@pat sree Sorry about the confusion. I was providing details for emergency travel parole and not regular advanced travel parole. from my understanding, emergency travel parole is issue immediately at your appointment.

thx and sorry for your mother. isn’t there a travel ban between India and US? will the advance parole only allow you to come back?

@A R I think the conditional ban doesn’t extend to spouses of US citizens. My lawyer said I should be okay to travel back

@asma oues sorry for the late response. it took about a week from calling USCIS to finally getting the advance parole (which they gave me right at the appointment)

thank you kitty ! I’m gathering the document ( doctor documents ) my lawer need them to advocate for my case . he is not going fast enough and I’m being really frustrated . My lawer still didn’t get the appointment ! should I take one by myself ?

also do I need to translate the doctor documents ? My dad is hospitalized in France and the documents are in French

@asma oues. Yes! don’t wait for the lawyer. I did it all by myself with the steps I mentioned in the post. Make sure the hospital has a letter which clearly states what the diagnosis is for your father, that it is critical in nature and that they recommend family members including (your name) to be present. it should be in English. I saw the officers giving a Arabic women a hard time because the documents were all in Arabic and she had to call the doctor and make them write one in English and run out to print it. I am really sorry to hear about your father — I understand completely how that feels. so best is to do it yourself. You lawyer may have many clients so this may not be a priority for them.

hi kitty so your initial I-131 request got canceled ? are you going to have any problems to receive your combo card ?

@Ilse no. I think my emergency parole document is valid for a year. so I can use that to travel. I did get my work permit and it says “not authorized for travel”. But I have my green card interview next week, so hopefully that means I will be enough for travel once I have my green card.

@Kitty Kat, waoh. your explanation was all I needed ahead of the call I'm expecting from the USCIS in 72 hours after asking for an emergency travel document today. I hope to get it too.

i dont have stamped biometric letter. on biometrics nobody gave me anything. how do you get it?

@kitty Kat, meanwhile do you think it's everyone who gets a one year emergency travel document validity? or it's random and at IO's discretion? I am in Brooklyn New York too. missed USCIS return call today, unfortunately. Hopefully to get them tomorrow

@ PJ I think everyone gets it for a year. Save the USCIS return phone number (202) 838-2200 on your phone so you don’t miss it.

@Kitty Kat, they eventually called me yesterday (Thursday) morning and I am scheduled for an appointment at the Brooklyn Local office. officer said if I do meet the requirements, I'd get a 30 day one-exit-one-entry advance travel document and that my initial pending I-131 continues to be in process. Have any thoughts on this?

hi i talked to them said they only willgive me one month in advance parole ,and the old i131 will canceled, and have to file another one ,i asked to exepedite the old i131 and i can waite a couple days ,i will see what next

hi guys I really need an answer as I am trying to get AP this week. @ kitty kat you mentioned that they given you a year valid AP with multiple entries. I am a DACA recipient and urgently need AP IF USCIS accepts and gives me AP do I get 30 days valid AP or one year long? Im confused OR do I have to mention that in the office? How long do I wan to AP for? please if you can answer my question that would be very helpful!

@ dilara dogukan did they give you 1 year ? I have a pending asylum case and I live in Michigan and I plan to schedule an appointment. Do you think I can get 6 months to 1 year multiple entry advanced parole ? @ Kitty Kat, I would aprreciate it if you could answer too?
