Emergency Travel Document #I-131
My Emergency Travel Document appointment is set up with USCIS after two days. I have a medical emergency for my mother. I applied for expedited for ATD, and got a call from the tier two office, but I never got an email to submit my evidence. So, I got into the Emergency Travel Doc. My question is: 1. USCIS provides advance parole, on an emergency basis, not Aslyum Travel Doc, right? 2. How long will be the validity? Depending on my situation? Can I ask for 6 months just in case they give for a short time? 3. Should pay a fee before an interview or after? I would appreciate any experience and info you can share. Thanks 🙏

i think is only for 30 days if you have an I 485 pending you should get an advanced parole

It’s based on Asylum granted

you should not leave with emergency parole as that is not a passport type of document, it is like an advance parole so you need to expedite your refugee travel document. p.s. I've seen people leave with AP & country of origin passport but it's a big risk in my opinion. how did they even let you get that appointment if you have a refugee travel document application in process

@Immigration Guy I got this notification in my email. What does it mean? “We received your request for expedited processing, and we will accommodate that request. Your case is now under expedited review.”

nice, that means your expedite was approved @DS T , I got my travel document 1 week after receiving that email

@Immigration Guy but I haven’t provided them any evidence/docs yet (not asked). I only requested through Ema, got call by tier 2 officer a month ago, today I got this email. How did you provided the evidence? Did you get this email after submitting your evidence?

I'm sure tier 2 asked for your reason of expedite, even if not Uscis is weird. I had sent the evidence when I applied right away. When I spoke to them they sounded like they were unaware of the evidence I sent lol so no worries. in a day or two it will be adjusted to travel document produced and then in less than a week I got it in mail. there are things you need to be aware of when traveling with refugee travel document though so make sure you're aware of those! @DS T

Are you planning to go back to original country with RTD? Sorry to hear that your mother’s conditions. I have the same situation asylum granted, waiting for RTD, to travel Germany which is not my home country. I need to go see my grandpa who is dyingđŸ„ș my lawyer says I shouldn’t apply for emergency travel document, I should not go back there😭 what should I do?

Actually, we as granted asylee are not eligible for emergency travel documents (advance parole). They scheduled my appointment by mistake that they apologized later. I had also processed for expediting my Refugee Travel Document, so they approved my expediting application instead. Thanks.
