Expedite request through Congressman/ Senator/ Ombudsman. How long did it take you to receive a response? EAD
Wondering if it USCIS takes 30 days to reply to all equally or if maybe one of them is more likely to get attention faster from USCIS. Please share your experience!

Wondering the same thing. It's been 2+ weeks for me, no response yet.
justin juniorJan 26, 2022
within a week or 2 uscis took 1 month to respond to my congressman inquiry if doesn’t work call them
B
Belle MJan 26, 2022
@justin call uscis yourself?
a
abdul khanJan 26, 2022
I tried it all at different dates, Its been almost a month since my first expedite request. So I got in a 2nd expedite today. I expedited thru congresswoman last week and via Ombudsman this past Monday. So I am assuming one is nore likely to get a faster response thru a congressman/woman or Ombudsman.
a
abdul khanJan 26, 2022
but again its USCIS we are talking about, it differs case by case.
B
Belle MJan 26, 2022
@abdul have you got a response from any of these?
a
abdul khanJan 26, 2022
I have not @Belle . Ombudsman is more likely a last resort kind of thing (thats what a lawyer I talked to over here said) apart from waiting. The congresswoman's office said , USCIS will respond back within 30 days but again I have seen people here and on reddit saying their case status changed in a week to 2 weeks. But sometimes its longer
a
abdul khanJan 26, 2022
based on my observation
B
Belle MJan 26, 2022
@abdul I've seen similar timelines. I get it has to do with which service centers and luck..
a
abdul khanJan 26, 2022
Even Lawfully's avg timelines arent that close to accurate but somewhat helpful to know one can be pretty close to getting a new update
B
Belle MJan 26, 2022
@abdul I do see cases get approved ~30 days after congressional inquiry. Hope we both hear goid news soon!
a
abdul khanJan 26, 2022
yes, I hope so too. But also cant help checking for status update everyday haha
B
Belle MJan 26, 2022
@abdul me too. The waiting is painful
justin juniorJan 26, 2022
@Belle M no really but through infopass an officer will call you to give you update on your case. you can request through emma live agent
justin juniorJan 26, 2022
@Abdul Khan sometimes takes longer because they haven’t receive the inquiry or they are working on other things
a
abdul khanJan 26, 2022
that ia true^ but a majority of the expedite requests I have seen online havent taken too much time. But thats just my observation. I hope they respond to all expedites as soon as possible
justin juniorJan 26, 2022

on reddit a user said she expedite 6 times and they just kept rejecting it and on the 7th time of the expedite they approved her so just gotta keep trying i guess
a
abdul khanJan 26, 2022
I saw that as well. So its case by case where it takes a lot longer for some

I did one before the holidays and it took a month. I didn’t get any response from the congressman or uscis - but my case was transferred to Nebraska and approved a little over 2 weeks. keep asking your congressman for the status - you have to advocate for yourself
L SJan 26, 2022
My congressman sent a letter to USCIS on my behalf on Jan 4… so far, I haven’t heard back and my status hasn’t changed online. I’ve heard it usually takes about 30 days to get a response. We’ll see…

Hi Angela! how long ago did you submit the expedite? Was it through the senator or congressman
Z
Z MJan 27, 2022
wow one week that’s awesome! hope mine gets reviewed soon! thank you all for sharing you experiences
Tina CotJan 27, 2022
Let me give you a more detailed timeline. Jan 3 - I submitted the request through the congressman’s website. Immediately received an auto reply as confirmation. Jan 10 - congressman’s staff called me and asked more about my case and asked for evidence (job offer) Jan 11 - i emailed my evidence and staff emailed me that she sent my request to uscis, she also forwarded the email confirmation she got from uscis so i am sure that she really sent it. Jan 19 - she emailed me saying the expedite was approved and forwarded the email from uscis saying “This case will be routed for expedited processing.” No updates on my case online. Still showing as “case is being actively reviewed” Jan 20 - got a notif from Lawfully and saw that my i765 updated to “new card is being produced” and i131 updated to case closed. Jan 25 - card was produced Jan 26 - card was picked up by USPS

wow that’s awesome! thank you so much for sharing. My congressman said they submitted the request last week but didn’t send me the confirmation from Uscis. Today I sent congressman more documentation and they replied “ I have once again contacted the proper officials at U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) letting them know of my interest in this case.”
Z
Z MJan 27, 2022
the USCIS told me that if the senator office or congressman reaches out by phone they check your case within 2 days but don’t know how to get them to do that. Seems like most of them send online requests
B
Belle MJan 27, 2022
@Z M do you know how long It'll take for uscis to check your case if congressman/woman or senator send an online request?
Francisco LealJan 28, 2022
@Tina Cot are you a Healthcare worker?
Tina CotJan 28, 2022
@Francisco Leal yes i am
Tina CotJan 28, 2022
@Z M did you expedite with a job offer? if so, just reach out to the congressman’s staff and ask her if she has the receipt no. or confirmation from USCIS so that you can forward that to your future employer so they can hold or extend the job offer for you.
Z
Z MJan 28, 2022
@Tina Cot I provided a supporting letter from the company I work for
Francisco LealJan 28, 2022
@Z M would you mind share the supporting letter from your employer? I’m in the same situation and I want to get one letter from my employer
Z
Z MJan 28, 2022
Hi @Francisco Leal. The letter talks about the projects I’m currently working on and that they are available if they have any questions
