Fiancé Visa Interview - Mexico
Has anyone else had any issues after receiving approval for their I-129F? Ours was approved Dec 2022. Fiancé submitted visa application Jan 2023 with NVC. Our case just got transferred the 1 Mar 2023 to embassy but no word on how to pay or who schedules the interview. My fiancé also has never received any correspondence from USCIS, NVC, or Embassy. ☹️ Anyone with similar concerns?

@Lizzette Quinonez check this site to do appointment. https://evisaforms.state.gov/Instructions/SchedulingSystem.asp I believe you should contact and explain your case to the U.S. Embassy in Mexico. Also, I think it’s you who makes the appointment. When you check the above site which is state department’s website for making appointment, it will take you there step by step. I think you said you submitted DS160 application, that’s good. And you should have the confirmation page. So go to the appointment site……. Pay the fee schedule the interview date and time Do the medical check with clinics that the embassy asked to do (not at any clinic) and receive the sealed medical check up Get the police clearance and have that report Have all the required docs Do the interview That is what I think.

Just to confirm, I thought it was ds260 for immigrant visa. Isn't ds160 for non immigrant visa ?
Lizzette QuinonezMar 19, 2023
@A P You, the foreign-citizen fiancé(e), (and eligible children applying for K-2 visas) will be required to bring the following forms and documents to the visa interview: Completed Form DS-160, Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application.

@Z Huan thank you I tried that link but Mexico isn’t listed :(

@Lizzette Quinonez : got you.

@A P : DS160 is for K1 ( fiancé) and other non-immigrant visa petitions. Technically it’s non-immigrant visa type as the couple should still show the relationship once arriving at US. Up until then, it is considered as non-immigrant visa type and that is why DS160 is used instead of DS260.

@Lizzette Quinonez my lawyer recently sent us this in preparation for an interview in juarez when it comes, the printable format is great. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Supplements/Supplements_by_Post/CDJ-Ciudad-Juarez.html
Lizzette QuinonezApr 19, 2023
@EJ Painter thank you! did y’all get an appointment scheduled yet? i finally got a response from the embassy in Mexico. they said we’re in the appointment queue and once one becomes available they’ll let us know next steps :(

@Lizzette Quinonez I’m glad to hear you got through at least! will it be in Juarez? I hope they can get you in soon! we submitted in august 2022, so we are likely months away from being approved for an interview- but a girl can dream!
Jackie B.May 31, 2023
@Lizzette Quinonez I was approved for K1 visa on March 15th, 2023 we applied January 2022! I have been waiting now 80 days and No Welcome Letter from NVC after 10 emails they respond that MEXICO IS NOT ISSUING K1 VISAS AT THIS TIME AND THAT IF MY APPROVAL EXPIRES I MIGHT HAVE TO PROVE AGAIN THAT WE QUALIFY......I AM SO SIVK OF THIS LONG PROCESS
Lizzette QuinonezJun 18, 2023
@Jackie B. trust me I know! BUT just know this - you won’t get a welcome letter! i never did!! i had to email NVC to get our case # and we went ahead and did the DS160 on our own without them telling us to. i got our letter by mail from the embassy in juarez FINALLY May22!! 😁 our petition “expired” in April but my congressman had reached out to them before then and they assured him that if the case processing takes longer that they’d extend our petition. so we finally have our interview date for July!! 🥳
Lizzette QuinonezJun 18, 2023
so if the timeframe goes similar for you, you should get a letter from the embassy Aug 2023! did y’all already do the DS160? i would say go ahead and gather your docs in the meantime! police report, 2x2 pics, proof, DS160 confirmation letter, etc!
Lizzette QuinonezJun 18, 2023
the letter from the embassy had his interview date listed and with instructions on how to submit and pay for the DS160. on that same website we were able to register the embassy appt along with schedule the fingerprint appointment! and went ahead and set up an appt for the medical exam too after reviewing the 2 clinics available there! hang in there! you’re so close!
Jackie B.Jun 19, 2023
@Lizzette Quinonez Thank you so very much! So it only took you 2 months to get interview
Jackie B.Jun 26, 2023
@Lizzette Quinonez I have tried to fill out ds 160 in mexico and it says not ready....how long after nvc sent your application to embassy in mexico were u able to apply ds 160 and thank u so much....I read it can take 4 to 8 weeks after nvc sends to embassy until they have case ready
Jackie B.Jun 26, 2023
@Lizzette Quinonez The agency that is helping us in mexico said they have tried to fill out ds 160 and when they submit case number not found meaning case is not embassy ready....Urghhhhh how long now I'm flying out to mexico just 7th ....and have no idea how long it will take to get interview! I can't hold down my job like thus....my life is a mess !!! when will this end
Jackie B.Jun 26, 2023
@Lizzette Quinonez How long did it take to become appointment Queue????
Jackie B.Jun 26, 2023
@Lizzette Quinonez Does the letter already come with interview date???
Jackie B.Jun 26, 2023
@Lizzette Quinonez The lady at agency helping in mexico said she will try everyday but looks like as of today the case is not ready at embassy Juarez
Lizzette QuinonezJul 5, 2023
@Jackie B. sorry for the delay! i dont get push notifications. so my petition was approved by uscis Dec 19. I found out on this app before I even got the letter in the mail! after I got the approval my fiancé filled out the ds160 in January online and we saved the confirmation letter. the nvc “received” our case from uscis Mar 1 and sent my fiancé an email with a letter that just has the case # and letting us know the case would take several weeks to process and is being sent to the embassy. may 22 we got a letter from the embassy with his visa interview appt for July 18. so from the moment it was approved by uscis to the actual appt date was 7 months 🫠I stopped bugging the NVC in March when I realized they were never answering my actual questions and kept giving me the same “your case is being processed” response every time.
Lizzette QuinonezJul 5, 2023
the embassy appt letter is what gave us the instructions to schedule the appt for the fingerprints and also we found the medical clinics on the nvc website. there is only 2 & they don’t require appts but we made one anyway.
Lizzette QuinonezJul 5, 2023
@Jackie B. and the embassy letter had his consular interview date only. we had to register it, pay the visa fee, and then schedule the fingerprint appt on the website it gives you on the letter.
Jackie B.Jul 5, 2023
@Lizzette Quinonez Thank u...I am worried because it doesn't allow us to finish and complete ds160 online...also we didn't get letter with instructions in mail fr embassy yet just email with case number and says it was sent to embassy
Jackie B.Jul 5, 2023
@Lizzette Quinonez Maybe we have to wait until we get the letter with instructions from embassy
Jackie B.Jul 5, 2023
@Lizzette Quinonez I'm just worried because it will be 4 months on July 15th 2013 and do3snt it expire
Lizzette QuinonezJul 6, 2023
@Jackie B. yes it does expire but it says if it expires during consular processing then they’ll be able to extend it at the interview. since it wasn’t our fault. i had the same question on my end and that is what my congressman told me. and that’s weird that it won’t let you finish the ds160? we didn’t have any issues doing that. did you make sure to write down the application number as soon as it pops up? it’s letters and numbers and gives it to you almost immediately after starting the application. you have to write it down because it won’t show it again. it will allow you to return and complete the same application you started.
Lizzette QuinonezJul 6, 2023
@Jackie B. also you might try YouTube. we used YouTube tutorials to figure out how to do the ds160 on our own
Jackie B.Jul 6, 2023
yes I am paying a service to help my fiancée in Mexico I told them I had already started the ds 160 and gave them the number and they still don't know....I will be arriving in mexico tomorrow....I might just go to a computer store and do it my self
Jackie B.Jul 6, 2023
@Lizzette Quinonez It does say to wait for instruction packet before doing ds160 maybe that's the hold up??? who knows
Jackie B.Jul 19, 2023
@Lizzette Quinonez yes filled out ds160 but won't allow payment . o think I jave to wait for embassy to instruct and then it will allow me to pay...Also did u jave to translate vaccine car I am thinking I have to because it is I. spanish....I just need to get his covid shot. How did u proceed vaccines? and which ones did u get? also where and when did u do finger prints
Jackie B.Jul 24, 2023
@Lizzette Quinonez im hoping we receive word and instruction packet soon this Tuesday will be 7 weeks and thank u
Lizzette QuinonezJul 29, 2023
@Jackie B. if you haven’t gotten the letter with the instructions on how to pay from the embassy then you won’t be able to pay the fee yet. it took 5 months approximately from the time uscis approved my I-129f until I got the letter from the embassy with the instructions on how to pay. i found the website on my own before they sent me the letter and made an account but it still wouldn’t let me pay because it said my case wasn’t ready yet. so your best bet is to be patient until you get the letter in the mail with the website and instructions on how to make an account to pay your fee and register your appointment. you should get it really soon if uscis approved y’all in March 2023! 😊
Lizzette QuinonezJul 29, 2023
@Jackie B. we translated everything that was in Spanish. birth certificate, vaccine record, and carta de no antecedentes penales & covid vaccine card. he had all his vaccines already that were required in Mexico. the ones required in the US are optional for a fiancé visa but will be mandatory when you’re adjusting status. he was missing 3 vaccines but we didn’t get them at the medical clinic in Juarez because they’re ridiculously expensive and will be free here so he’ll just get them here once he’s in the US. i hope this all helps!! I’m trying to stay on this app because i was so lost throughout the process. we did it on our own so it just requires a lot of patience! just focus on getting your documents ready to go until you hear word from the embassy.
Lizzette QuinonezJul 29, 2023
we took a WHOLE LOT of paperwork with us and they only kept certain things BUT it’s better to take more than you need than be missing something and get things delayed.
Lizzette QuinonezJul 29, 2023
https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/K1/CDJ_Ciudad-Juarez-2-22-2021.pdf I used this as a guide for my documents checklist. before his interview we put everything in order and put it all in a binder. just be ready to stay a couple days after your consular interview date because the one the embassy gave us wasn’t his actual interview date. all they did was take his documents and give him another date to come back and interview. we got really lucky that they had him come back the next morning first thing because he had a flight to go back home in the afternoon!! the interview date on the consular letter said 7/18 but when he went they said it wasn’t his interview date just an appt to take his documents and gave him an interview for 7/19 @ 7am at the consulate. so be prepared for that!
Jackie B.Jul 29, 2023
@Lizzette Quinonez Thank I so very much....we also are doing it on our own and I felt very lost here in mexico..ibwill translate vaccines
Jackie B.Jul 29, 2023
@Lizzette Quinonez THE weirdy thingbis that we have been in ready status but no letter...you jave been a tremendous help
Lizzette QuinonezJul 29, 2023
@Jackie B. we felt the same way! we were in ready status since March and when I kept reaching out they finally told us that we were in the appointment queue and the embassy would send us the appointment notice when it was ready. it was so stressful to keep waiting after the petition expired but we put our faith in God and just stayed patient! 🙏🏽
Jackie B.Jul 29, 2023
@Lizzette Quinonez God with us nothing against us!
Jackie B.Aug 9, 2023
@Lizzette Quinonez Hello....today is August 9th and nothing
Jackie B.Aug 9, 2023
@Lizzette Quinonez The 15th of August will be 5 months and nothing yet in mail today...should I worry 😟
Lizzette QuinonezAug 9, 2023
@Jackie B. no it took 5 months for us to get the interview notice from the embassy so that sounds normal. if you are worried you can reach out to your congressman or submit an inquiry on the embassy website. we did that but the embassy took a little more than a month to respond. and they only said we were in the appointment queue and wouldn’t get a notice until an appointment was available.
Jackie B.Aug 10, 2023
@Lizzette Quinonez Thank u so much...
