uscis said 90 days but nvc told me 4 weeks...but you have it is...and did you know that the actual approval is actually only good for 3 months

i mean they will extend it if it takes longer but it is only valid for 3 months

@melina perez : USCIS says 4 weeks (30 days). NVC says 60-90 days. Valid for 4 months, not 3 months.

USCIS to NVC: 30-90 days. NVC to embassy: depends on embassy

@A P i was approved in november 8 and i receive thé welcome letter on feb 14

@A P the nvc send a welcome letter on Feb 14 of this year and on Feb 21 the embassy send how to process for the visa

@Jovanye Dorange : thanks for sharing. It gives some clue. So, for NVC, it took 95 days to send you the welcome letter. That’s a little over what they say “up to 90 days” and yours took 95/ 96 days. very close…..

@Z Huan yeah i wrote 3 by mistake....but im fact that was what the agent at uscis told me and i also have an email from nvc with the above information. either way it will take a little while longer

The uscis approval states until end of July as expiry which is 4 months from approval date.

@A P yes i told u the embassy send a letter how to process to the visa k1 on Feb 23 and i do everything until i paid my visa in march and they give you access to choose date for biometry and consular interview. so now i m waiting for my interview in April 10.

@Z Huan u're welcome! my fiance wrote to them (nvc) every week until they sent my welcome letter because my approval was going to expire on march 4th and on february 14th they sent it to me.

@A P No. but about evidence financial the petitionner have to fill form I864 and i 134 you have to go with them at the interview

@Jovanye Dorange can those be filled online? As far as i know I don't think petitioner can go to the interview with beneficiary. has that changed ?

@A P they are form, u gonna find them on uscis website. in some country they let the petitioner assist to the interview.

@A P No on uscis site you gonna see case approved. but for NVC u have an annoter number case with 3 letter and 10 number , with this number case u gonna see if ur case is ready at the embassy.

@Jovanye Dorange some users mentioned about seeing sent to nvc status after 11 days of uscis approval. maybe that's not the case?

I don’t think so. you have to just ask NVC for case number

@A P if nvc send to u the welcome letter u gonna see a case number with 3 letter of the country u gonna have ur interview for examp if is in Canada it's writting CAN with 10 others number

@A P Any luck? I am still waiting since 1/27 for my Letter but I managed to get my NVC Case Number and Invoice ID number using the Public Inquiry Form. Filled out the DS-160 already and went on my embassy’s designated scheduling website and made an account already but didn’t pay the fees yet because i’ve done all of this without having received the NVC Welcome Letter yet. How far are you along?

@Philip A you are much ahead of me. Your USCIS approval was about ~60 days before me. I'm glad your case is moving along. Keep us posted on your welcome letter. Looking at NVC website, they are saying about working on cases recieved by uscis on March 23. I understand they have huge backlog.

hello everyone i want to let you know im waiting for my passport with the visa , the embassy told me it's can be 2 weeks to have it.

i wish y'all will pass the interview at the embassy when ur time will come. in all my process lasted 20 months.

@joe Dor congratulations! Usually you get passport within 2 weeks. Atmost 1 week. Any insight into type of questions they asked you?

@A P my first interview was in April, I was asked these questions: 1- where does my fiancé work, 2- how often has he come to see me? 3- the dates and days he came? 4- how many brothers and sisters does he have? 5- how did we meet? 6- have you already planned the wedding? how will it be? 7- Does he have children? 8- is this our first relationship for both of you? 9- have I already visited other countries? 10- Have I ever been convicted of a crime in my home country?

@A P but after the interview I was declared inadmissible for the visa because I had not come with my fiancé. I was told to make another appointment for a second interview and I went there last week, but they didn't really ask me any questions, we just took the passport and the consul asked me with who lived my fiancé and gave me the letter to go get my passport with the visa he told me that I will receive an e-mail when the visa is ready to pick up the passport and that it was going to take up to 2 weeks.

@joe Dor thanks for sharing. I guess it depends on the country if fiance needs to be part of interview. what country are you from? For india, usc fiance is not allowed for the interview. Now i want to make sure if that policy has changed
