but my lawyer said to reschedule just to be on the safe side. I def don’t wanna cancel it. been waiting for 15 months

go for ur interview the inviewer will not make decisions until u send your birth certificate to them they might send u RFE which is better than to cancel the interview . it may take u 12 months or more if reschedule.

damn. i wonder how comes my lawyer didn’t know this, but he’s just jumping into rescheduling even tho chances are I’ll recieved them on Monday that’s before my interview.

attorney are mostly citizens they don’t feel ur pains and most of them are born here . they would never understand the agony and depression immigrants go thru . they can tell u they understand bcos of the money you will pay lol .. go for ur interview and get that green card in flying colors

very true. uscis just wrote me rfe and they needed me in less than 2 weeks. so I have to provide the request rfe but the time is so little. i did my best but now they’re on transit and this is going to be my 2nd interview also

whatever you do, DO NOT reschedule the interview. A facial expression is worth more than a thousand words on paper. Go for the interview, when the issue comes up, politely explain you’ve sent for it from your home country and it’s on it’s way by DHL. Get the tracking number and open it on your phone if the situation allows it (show it to the officer and let him/her see the estimate arrival date if you can). And then ask him to please give you a couple of weeks to receive it and send it over by way of extending the deadline of the RFE . They’re human beings! and they will understand. add some prayers 🙏🏾 if you believe in God

go to your interview!!!!!!!! all you have to is explain yourself to the interviewer sometimes you’re not even asked for these things I brought a whole suitcase of documents and the only thing the officer asked me if I wanted to leave anything with her all I gave her was two pictures of my wedding and that was it a few days later my green card came in the mail good luck you’ll be just fine

you should be able to take a scanned copy of your birth certificate to your interview if you have one.

even the RFE she didn’t even ask about it🤷🏻‍♀️

i do have one of those but for my divorce letter that’s why they sent me an RFE and now that’s on the way with my birth certificate. but I just leave my lawyer an email that i don’t want any cancelation

I agreed with A C and Itzel... don't cancel. Go to your interview and explain them the situation. Make a copy of the tracking order and present it to them... They will sent you an RFE that needs to be responded as soon as you get your birth certificate. It's wayyyyy better than rescheduling the interview because you don't know how long it gonna take or you can have your RFE the following week or 2 and respond.

the biggest mistake you will make is to cancel your interview, they can always get the document once it arrives, more importantly you should have ask for a scan copy before they mail it to you, USCIS only need a copy not original, however don't miss your interview.
