yes even I filed I-290B in Feb 2021 it got approved in October after 8 months maximum . but my I-130 is reopened since 4 month it's stuck on same status don't know how much time it will take for final result for my I-130

they sent my interview letter…I didn’t receive it because my address was changed and I didn’t change the address…but it didn’t come in mail if the new address

I was always checking my case status to avoid this kind of thing happening..but that never changed since the day I submit…

so my denial was just a decision based on the fact that I didn’t show up for interview that I never got the letter

I have 290B since August 2021 still waiting

1 765 update 1weeks now they close my form because beneficiary receive status true others means I don’t know what that’s mean

@Gonzales heary : In june 2020 they Send Request for Evidence notice on given adress .but we couldn't find that .late it went back to USCIS , when we checked the status change to denied .so we spoke to attorney he advised us to file motion to reopen, I'm thankful to USCIS they Approved my I-290B . my I-130 Denied status change to Reopened , I'm waiting since 4 month no clearity what next .

yes! after my interview they requested RFE and said they didn’t receive it

« Case closed benefits received through other means » doesn’t always mean you’ll receive a green card. In your case it just means that they couldn’t approved your EAD after 6 months because your case it still showing that it was denied. So they closed your EAD renewal based on the denial. You have to wait for uscis to reopen your case.

@precious Anne did you went true this experience before or know anyone ?? it kind of fasturating me I’m waiting from my ead to start work back

@precious Anne,thanks for your insight…but how long will I have to wait for my 290b…it’s been filed since October by April it will be 6month on the count…

and without EAD one is out of job….it’s really frustrating….

@kim scott I’m going through the same thing. When I got this update I checked online and got the same answer that I’ll receive my green card. I spoke to my attorney she told me the update means uscis closed the case because of the denial. I didn’t believe her. I personally called uscis to ask for the meaning of that update. The agent on the phone told me he didn’t have the answer but he sent a inquiry to a tier2 agent. Almost 2 weeks after that call I received an email from uscis explaining what the update means. I wish I could post screenshots of that email here😩. Forget about that EAD I don’t think it will come again because the application was ”terminated " that’s the word they used in the email. You gotta wait till they reopen your case and send you your interview letter. Good luck

@Kim scott yes, I have a 290b ( a motion to reopen or to reconsider) and an EOIR-29 ( an appeal) pending.

@ hopeful sally I really don’t know how long it takes to reopen a 290b 🤷🏽‍♀️. The only thing I can tell you is to ask the petition to call uscis and request for the application to be expedite. But you need a good reason. Financial hardship can probably help but I don’t think it’s good enough. At least it will help to get your file out of the storage😬. I know it’s not funny but right now there’s no much we can do. Try to ask uscis ombudsman to look into your case.

@kimly scott I’m not an lawyer 😂, and I don’t work for USCIS 😬😬😬. but from what I heard if your case it’s not tough , a missing interview or RFE you don’t have to worry. the judge will approve your case if that’s the case. another thing I just read is ICE office it’s somewhere there too. but most of the time the judge decision is made without you. you’re not going to be present unless you’re arrested. if I were you I wouldn’t worry too much. at least your case is moving. but it can stay there for another 6 months to a year.

I had my interview may 2021 and my husband mistaken say I was com on law with my child father in my country which in my country they recognize com on law as legal so I had to prove I wasnt

@kimmy scott if you sent all the documents that can prove that you’re in a common law relationship with your child’s father you will be fine. they will do their own investigation it’s uscis , it’s the government they know if you’re lying or telling the truth. you will be fine.

@Laura Baz “ No show” my husband and I didn’t attend the interview because our attorney called uscis 24 days before the Interview to ask them to reschedule our interview because she was not going to be able to make it on that day( 07/29/2021). they said they were good to make a decision and then send us a new date. she called us after she made the call, she rescheduled our interview without our consent 😩. On 08/20/2022 I-485 and I-130 was denied 😭. the only option they gave us was to file an EOIR-29 (an appeal with the board of immigration ) which we did 30 days after the denied. Then in October myattorney called me she wanted us to file for I-290B which we didn’t have the money for. On 11/15/2021 we sent out the I-290b. USCIS sent us a receipt on 12/15/2021. from 02/2022-03/2022 we made a few moves ( we contacted the USCIS ombudsman, we put 2 requests for expedite, we called uscis every week or every 2 weeks 😬😂). on 04/07/2022 both cases were reopened for reconsideration and on 04/08/2022 they were reopened.

@Precious Anne Is your I-485 case approved? My FO is houston as well, my case got denied because I didn’t attend for interview, but I never received interview notice. I submitted 290B in Oct 2023, waiting for an update.

anne please answer , you mean that you put 2 expedite request for your I 290 b form ??? cause I also filled 2 moths ago still didn't get any action. I wanna do same like you for get faster answer cause I had I 485 denial bc of I didn't show up for interview but they never send me any notice for that.

Since I did not receive any notification date for the interview, I could not attend the interview, so I- 485 cases were rejected. Then I filled out the i 290 b form and I have been waiting for news for 2 months, but in total it has been 3 years since I applied, so I expect a quick result. What can I do to make them respond faster?Because if they don't reopen the case, I will have to start everything from scratch, so I don't want to waste time.
