Emma, I have been trying to expedite for 3 months (using congressman, senator, Emma/tier 2 officer, and my employer). Today morning I received this. I will recommend talk to your congressman/senator, they are helpful

but I still don’t know if they will approve it , they denied my previous request

in this case, Around 7 days after I spoke with a tier 2 officer

the Congresswoman expedited my case yesterday , They said formally they will respond within 30 days . But I hope thats not the case. I have seen people getting an update the next day or within a week

I too am in a difficult position , I hope to get my EAD before the 1st week of feb , or else Ill have to stop working

@abdul I guess it all depends on your situation. My congressman expedited mine as well. I got an email asking for supporting documents which I faxed so just waiting on a response right now.

i hope things get better for you as well. I had to submit supporting documents and it took 2 days to get all that info over to the congresswoman and so they submitted the expedite request on Friday.

@abudul did you request for a renewal EAD? Did you also get a support letter from your employer?

no this will be my initial GC EAD. I did not. I showed that I will not be able to meet my lease requirement and will become homeless (hopefully not 😅) and severe financial loss

As I am the sole provider of my family , etc

I contacted my congressman on the 3rd but I received an email asking for supporting documents on the 14th which also stated that my representative reached out to them on the 13th so I'm really not sure.

@emma USCIS should update within a week if all is smooth

my congresswoman response was quick enough for me to get the supporting document emailed to her. So I am really hoping to hear an update before upcoming Friday

My case status changed to " request for additional information received " about 7 business days after expedite request and after 2 days it changed to new card being produced. And my case got approved without any request for evidence. All the best to you

Mine is new application for EAD as well and I was not expecting it to be approved at all. All the best to you

I would think it's good news! Usually if they deny they will just deny without updating case to status like this. Just patiently wait I believe you will have the approval! I also expedited a few times, recently with congressman and senator. But I haven't heard anything 😭 I'm out of work for 13 months now. May I ask how long it took for you to hear from congressman?
