it’s a lengthy process, 5.5 months 14.5 months and it cannot be filed electronically

aye I saw on the internet where it’s saying if u file I824 for consular processing it will take 4-6 weeks

@TS M yep that’s what I heard when I was filling but it’s been over three months no approval yet from TX service center

so u file for action on approved petition is it consular processing you doing for your spouse ? did u file electronically?

u can submit a case enquiry 60 days after filing i824.

that’s what I was thinking to do next.

@Asad Haq hi any updates? 3 months ago my husband filed I 824 . I'm outside USA. may I do a case enquiry? the processing time for TX is 3.5-6 months.

is any one get I-824 approved who filed in early December 2020. mine was filed in December still not approved yet. its almost 6 months to filed. pls let me know how long uscis take to get it approved

Lucia K sorry for late response, my PD is October 2020 and nothing yet, I did outside of processing inquiry and didn’t do anything just said to wait my application is on the list for adjudication that was 10 days ago.

@Sam Singh I haven’t heard anything after the receipt notice and my PD is Oct 2020 Texas service center time changes every week and as of now it shows we are current 🤷‍♂️.

thanks @Asad for your quick answer on my question. just wanted to know are you primary applicants in the I-824?. i had discussed with my attorney they said I-824 might take up to 1year to get it approved. its carzy for me.

@ Lulia yes I made an inquiry nothing happened and no I have expedite it through senator or congress yet.

@Asad- Any update on your I-824 ?. did you contact your attorney to ask timeline of I824 approval

@sam Singh I called the Uscis the other day and she told me that my case is still with in the processing time, they are working on May 2020 cases now 🤷‍♂️

that's standard upper limit which is 13.5 months this month. did you try contacting your senator?

find the representative using the zip code And go the senator website there will be option for Services and then for our senator the option is “Help with a federal agency” and then choose US citizen and immigration services You can raise a form online or call in the given number and then you have to send them a privacy release form signed with details And they will submit it to ISCIS And wait till USCIS come back

@Lulia wouldn’t in it effect any negative way because I have already expedited twice.

filed on feb 2021 with Texas. no response yet. it is so typical that the case could get months to get approval

Thanks Lulia. Any idea on timing? Does it make sense to renew the expired H1B and file for I 485 in the US?? At least I will get an EAD. Will that be better than waiting for the I 824 in India??

the latter is what I am doing right now. the wait times are gradually rising it was 1 year when I started it is now 2 years when I checked last time.

Hello all. I have applied in May 2021 and got a notification from USCIS that the preliminary review was completed and the case was transferred to USCIS office. Not sure what that means and how much time would it take from now? Has anyone got such communication who has applied around that time? Any inputs would be appreciated!!

Hello everyone I have applied I-824 in September 2022 still don’t know how long it will take

My husband lost I-797a form so applied for I-824 in January. We didn’t receive any updates till now . Does anyone have any idea how long it takes ? When I check online it says 14.5 months (Nebraska center) . Does it really take that long? We want to travel to India this December but without the approval notice we cannot travel . Any inputs are much appreciated
