I-824 Timeline (Potomac)
I’m sharing my I-824 timeline here in hopes of hearing of other people’s experience with the Potomac Service Center. Lawfully data indicates that people who filed this form in January and February are receiving approvals, while mine remains in process even though it was received in December. This is very frustrating because the elation my wife and I had over our I-130 approval quickly turned into a nightmare because my lawyer’s office neglected to check a box.

Hi Guys, i called USCIS TODAY JAN 8 2024, they said Potomac processing time is 16 months currently. I really hope he is wrong. Can you please guys, call uscis at 800) 375-5283 and ask to "reschedule the interview" that will get you to talk to a live agent and please ask how behind they are? Let's help each- other!

My I-824 got approved yesterday and started NVC processing,it costs almost one year (from 03/17/2023)! Every time I called USCIS, I got same answer-it is in normal processing, wait! I can’t do anything to push it. But couple weeks ago I saw an information on website by chance, which shows Potomac Service Center doesn’t accept I-824😱. I called USCIS immediately, and she said Yes, my case was transferred to Texas and still in processing, average time is 12 months. But I forgot to ask the 12 months is from I submitted the form or from the transferred date, and I was ready to call back after 03/17. Thanks God, I got good news yesterday!
So I suggest that you should call USCIS to make sure where your case is now and when is the processing time calculated.
