We did k1 visa through Philippines and we got an email saying we can schedule our interview 5 days after our case said Ready. So I would imagine it would be about a week for you. The only difference for me is that we got a welcome letter 2 days before our case said Ready. Of course every embassy is different.

In the meantime, make sure you have all your documents ready so that when you do get that confirmation to schedule an appointment, you can pick the closest appointment if you're able to choose your own appointment date.

It all depends on which country you're doing the k1 visa from. For me I just did a lot of research specific to the Philippines and made the payments and scheduled the medical on our own. We never got specific instructions on how to do it from the Embassy/consulate.
