NIW: Case status was reopened for reconsideration
Hi everyone,
After almost 500 days, today my case status changed to "Case status was reopened for reconsideration". Does anyone know what it mean? Anyone else received a similar status change? My PD is Feb 2020. Note: I never received any decision to my case before.

i filled I-140 NIW form with my layer (VC). I only had "Case was received" status ever since Feb 2020 when I submitted my application. Never received any other notice.

it means they will take a look again on your case that’s why they said they reopened your case for reconsideration I hope for positive feedback

what do yoy mean "take a look again"? I never received any decision on my case. I thought they will reopen to any closed cases with decisions (denied or approved cases).

Exact same thing happened to me. I’m employment based and never received any decision from them. RFE and after it was received the case status changed to “reopened for reconsideration.” RFE was for medical and 485j. Just today received an approval for 485j. No online status change. It still shows “case was reopened!”

Yes. They approved my case, but for some reason the online status still shows "case was reopened". It looks like a technical glitch.

I received the approval notice after a week. Based on the notice, my case was approved on the very same day when my case status changed to reopened for reconsideration.

Same thing happened with me. I got approval notice and reopen notice. It's been ~80 days I485J case status shows "Case Reopened." Not sure which was sent first approval or reopen notice. Not sure what's right.

Our MB case was denied because we never responded to RFE,after Interview and home visit,So we filled (i-290b May,2021) and we got this last week

My question is what could happen next ?How long do we hope to hear from them?

Hi Martinez, wondering if you heard back from uscis on your case? We are in a similar situation and just got I-290b approved and reopened the case. Would like to know what to expect next....
