same timeline but interview was in January of 2021. Only one interview and I got stuck there.

I did interview in April of 2021 and all the additional documents that was requested after the interview was finally submitted on September 2021. even I went as far as uploaded it on my USCIS online account. Back in December 2021 I spoke with Tier 2 officer/Supervisor who confirmed that my response fo form I-72 was received. Why is the delayed then???

Nigeria is on a red list at USCIS. If the Nigerian now has a divorce decree from Nigeria, that case will be specifically flagged. Their strategy is to sit on the case to see if the marriage will fall apart very quickly so they can deny the case. This advice is for every Nigerian that reads this, do your research well and be very proactive before you file. Don’t rush to file without submitting a very strong case that covers everything they might request. Finally, hire a lawyer.

@Rocco I’m pretty much aware besides it’ll started on the tik tok video and guess one of the officer came across Nigeria Divorce issues.

It has happened repeatedly. People submitting fraudulent divorce decrees over the years. Now it is delaying the cases of genuine people because they are Nigerians

Just be well prepared like @yanner said. Age is meaningless to USCIS as long as your marriage is genuine. Do all that is humanly possible to supply good evidence to support your case

Rococo Forte you’re 100% correct. USCIS didn’t value and trust any divorce certificate from Nigeria, especially if it’s not online for them to verify it, they will classify it as fraud. I have submitted additional documents they requested for since August 2021, I am still waiting for decision. God will definitely see us through (Amen).

on the flip side, I think there is a country by country cap to issuing visas. If we have many applicants from Nigeria, what happens to other countries? Mind you, there is a yearly green card limit. I believe this affects indians and Nigerians bcos they top the list of beneficiaries/applicant. Just my opinion bcos discrimination is a federal offence and no agency will like to be called out for it. I am a Nigerian, did my second interview, still waiting for reply since November 2021. PD dec, 2019. I know many Nigerians still waiting. There must be a reason. I am hopeful and positive and continue to contribute my best to this great country called the United States as a health worker. Keep hope alive all!

@joely, nigeria is not even close to most green card receivers. Indian, Chinese Russian top the list.

@jackson Nigeria is a red flag country. That’s is the one and only reason Nigerian cases are sat on. They believe fake marriages will collapse eventually that way they can deny and put the person into deportation

@Rocco Forte some of our aburo’s are living under a rock. make una wise up. You think they will come and say to your face they don’t like you? Better learn to read the handwritten on the wall. There is limit on the quota of visas that can be giving for a marriage case visa quota is not the issue.
