Processing Time Statistics
Hello Lawfully community!
I've been using the app for a couple of months now and I love its usability, but the statistics on USCIS processing times seem not to be matching reality.
I have a pending employment-based GC, EAD and AP applications in Nebraska, and I often check other sources of information such as trackitt, am22tech, visagrader etc., which are all based on user reported data as well, but are more consistent across and with USCIS most recent official numbers - meaning up to 1 year for EAD/AP, up to 2 years for GC, and growing with all the backlog.
Lawfully tells me that based on other similar applications I'm likely to have my EAD processed in 6 months and GC in 1 year total.
I would like to ask what has been your experience. Are your cases processing times matching Lawfully statistics at all? Anything I may be missing in the app functionality?
Thanks everyone for the feedback and wishing you the best,
Caio

You’ll be very lucky to have it approved in 6 months. Nebraska center is dead.. Mine is pending since May 2021 and I’ve seen people waiting since Nov/20..

That's what I'm thinking too. I wanted to understand where the Lawfully statistics are coming from. Hopefully they approve EAD premium processing soon, my work VISA expires this year:

From what I’ve seen the lawfully statistics don’t seem to be accurate: it says that I should have my EAD/AP within a month, I’m an April filer in Nebraska and right now the service center is processing oct/nov 2020...also my lawyer told me that the premium processing has been voted a while ago and putting it in place will take months.

My understanding is the data is based on the number of users who provided the information. Considering the Application type (marriage, EB...etc) and service center, there might be few cases that match your exact category. Therefore, although the data might reflect the true number, it may not apply to individual case. So, might not be accurate for your case.

The prediction was useless for me. Don’t trust it, imo.

I would say rely on the data from USCIS average processing times, it is extremely accurate. Predictions here didn’t work for either one of my applications.

Sometimes even the average data is not accurate, because it’s average. Especially now when the USCIS is heavily backlogged and understaffed. The average processing times will give you a rough estimate. It may be accurate and it may not. I am waiting for 13 months since Dec 2020. There are people in November whi are still waiting, but on the site it says that TSC is should be working on Dec cases.

Yes, that makes sense Uros! If Lawfully uses data from Oct 2020 and before it may be averaging processing times before the backlog with processing times after the backlog, which would explain the discrepancy. In the app it says "applications of the most recent year" so I'm not sure if this means year to date or 1 whole year, etc.
Another thing I noticed looking at other sources (mostly trackitt) is that there's seems to be a trend of faster processing times for non-backlogged countries. I.e. India and China EAD cases are taking 400+ days, other countries around 200. I didn't think this was applicable to EAD, but that's what I'm seeing at trackitt.
Waiting… WaitingJan 6, 2022
I usually follow the processing time provided by USCIS, BUT every month they are changing and extending it…so sad! Since COVID hit, nothing is working well / on time.

@Caio, not sure about the the thing on non backlogged countries (been waiting for almost 10 months and I’m from France). I think the main issue is that Nebraska has a huge backlog and is understaffed. I’ve seen the processing times for this service center going from 4-6 months to 11-13 months over the last 6 months. Sorry to be pessimistic but I’ve really seen that thing getting worse and worse

I’ve been waiting for 13 months now and I’m from Serbia. No connection whatsoever
Caio CastroJan 6, 2022
Thanks guys. Regarding the backlogged countries theory, it is what I see in trackitt, but may be again just because the data pool from India and China is way larger than data from other countries, so it's hard to compare. Hopefully they speed up processing this year, wishing you the best luck.
