Reentering the US on Advance Parole After 6+ Months
Hello, Has anyone experienced or know someone who has lived outside the U.S. for 6+ months and returned on an Advance Parole (I-512) document without any issues? I understand that a shorter duration is generally better, but I’d like to hear about your experiences. Thank you! #i-512, #i-131, #I-765

you’re not suppose to stay out of the county that long especially if your using advance parole. greencard holders can’t even stay that long unless your requested to stay long by filing for a re entry permit because by the the advance parole would be considered abandoned

The rule for staying a long period of time outside US applies on lawful permanent residents (greencard holders) who have shown an intent for staying permanently in the US. The rule does NOT apply to those who have an advance parole (AP) with pending i485. Since you are NOT a permanent resident yet, you can stay outside US and return as long as AP is valid regardless of length of stay.

@Ahmed Ah If you're not yet a permanent resident, you can stay outside US as long as your AP is valid.
