when on OPT its less likely to get a renewal because you’re not a full time student anymore and you’ll have it hard to reenter in the US. i never did it but I’ve friends who experienced this.

as long as your i-94 has a DS stamp you should be good. the i-94 is your status document not the visa, a visa is only an entry permit. but it’s always best to consult an immigration lawyer.
