Something weird with my case
My I-485 was filed 3months ago and it was in NBC all along, today I contacted emma agent and they said my case moved to field office in Brooklyn which is very weird since I am residing in California so what Brooklyn field office has to do anything with my case even if they are planning to schedule me for an interview ☹️☹️☹️
Had anyone else also face the same situation? is it a good thing that the case is transferred to field office from NBC? or it’s going to take now even longer.

That’s actually a great news. Your case needs to be sent to field office to complete the adjudication process. Sending it to a non local field office means interview waived, which is also a great news. Look forward to your green card approval within 8 weeks from now. Mine got approved exactly 4 weeks after being sent to a non-local field office from NBC. Congratulations in advance

they don’t actually send paper files to fo. it’s all done digitally, so the distance is not relevant.

what date is your PD and which country. my case was submitted in April and it went to NBC and still shows “finger prints applied” I am from India and my Pd is Jan 2022 which means it is current.
anant saxenaJul 12, 2023
@Nomad 15 my situation is similar. i filed my case in April 2023 and got biometric done on May 26 2023. after talking to emma/agent yesterday I was informed that my case is transmitted to Anchorage Field Office which is non-local for me as I live in California. I am not sure the processing time for Anchorage or pending cases but online it says 13 months. anyone else whose case is with anchorage?
Nomad 15Jul 12, 2023
@Raj veer My PD is July-2020, India, don’t know what’s going on with USCIS. Same in my case only it shows fingerprint applied nothing else

@Li Li thanks a lot for an optimistic comment, congrats on your green card approval, I hope what you said is true. btw did you contact emma to know about your case transfer to FO? or you got the letter in mail
Li LiJul 12, 2023
@Nomad 15 I contacted Emma
Raj veerJul 12, 2023
@anant saxena When you reached out to Emma/agent, what did you ask? I am thinking to reach out and ask about my case as well. mine is same and as yours and @Nomad 15 . Hopefully we will get some positive news soon.

same case - Transfered to non-local field office (Portland, ME).
Raj veerJul 12, 2023
@Abhi S Did you Reach out to Emma, if yes then what did you ask for?
anant saxenaJul 12, 2023
i provided all the details to the agent ans enquired that my biometric was done back in may and I want to know where my case is at. they said its with NBC, so i asked what are the next steps, then the agent provided info on my case being transferred to Anchorage field office. hope it helps!
anant saxenaJul 12, 2023
i am not seeing any posts for cases at anchorage field office to understand the timeline. if anyone knows of any cases please let me know
Gabi PJul 12, 2023
Generally it’s good news because it means that you’re in the last step of the process (unless you get an RFE), but also I think the comment on 8 weeks is very optimistic. Mine was transferred to a non local field office 9 months ago and I still haven’t heard anything. I took a look at USCIS data on typical time to approval after transfer and the average is more like 6 months, with some taking up to a year
Raj veerJul 12, 2023
So it is totally unpredictable. I have noticed that they are giving preference to the Marriage based petition specially to one married to USC. Cases have been approved even the ones that were applied a month after mine.
Raj veerJul 13, 2023
Did you guys see, EB1C has been retro regressed to Jan 2012 in Aug 2023 visa bulletin
SpinLock 🔐Jul 14, 2023
@Raj veer Asked Emma if my case had been transferred to a field office.
Raj veerJul 14, 2023
@Abhi S I asked today got very rude answer. not to contact them before May 2025 LOL
Nomad 15Jul 14, 2023
@Abhi S @Raj veer Emma is completely useless, I contacted them today again about the case transfer and they said it never moved from NBC. complete nonsense contradicting information given by different agents. I just lost the hope of GC ever after seeing Aug Bulletin. so unfair
Raj veerJul 14, 2023
@Nomad 15 @Abhi S and @anant saxena - Please update once you guys get the 485 approval. I am hoping we get the approval before August. I hope we are eligible this month. fingers crossed. They have approved my wife’s EAD yesterday, so there is still hope.
anant saxenaJul 14, 2023
@Raj veer did you expedite the EAD? i am still waiting for case to be transferred to the FO as last I checked, agent said its in transit
Raj veerJul 14, 2023
@anant saxena, No I did not, again this is my Wife’s EAD that got approved and not mine. she is dependent.
SpinLock 🔐Jul 15, 2023
I my case, wife got both EAD and AP approved. I only have the EAD. I’m not very hopeful of the I-485 approval by Aug. So most likely post October
Raj veerJul 15, 2023
My Wife’s AP got approved today as well. It’s strange there is no movement on mine and my kid. Hopefully in coming days it will.
Nomad 15Jul 17, 2023
@Abhi S @Raj veer @anant saxena my I-485 got approved today , in 2 weeks 3 days after my case moved to non-local field office Brooklyn, all best to you guys, hopefully your GCs are approved too before Aug
Nomad 15Jul 17, 2023
@Li Li @Gabi P thank you for your inputs and yes you were right, it was a good news that my case moved to FO, in 2 weeks it got approved
Raj veerJul 17, 2023
@Nomad 15 Awesome, that’s great news. congratulations!!!! so happy for you.
anant saxenaJul 17, 2023
congrats @Nomad 15
does the 2weeks 3 days include the transit time from NBC?
Li LiJul 17, 2023
@Nomad 15 Fantastic 👌. Congratulations 🎉🎈🍾
Nomad 15Jul 17, 2023
@anant saxena don’t lnow abut the transit, emma agent said it transferred to FO on 30th June
anant saxenaJul 18, 2023
thanks! My status moved to “new card being produced” today! 😊
Raj veerJul 19, 2023
@anant saxena Congratulations!!! Did they approve your EAD and AP as well?
anant saxenaJul 19, 2023
