Waiting after EAD expedite request approved
My expedite request for EAD was approved on Oct 12. However, the joy of the approval is fading and is turning into another worry for a long wait this week. There has been no status update since the request approval. Lawfully says the status change happens in two days on average.
If you successfully expedited your EAD, could you share your experiences? What could I reasonably expect to happen?

Reason for expedite — the financial crisis and negative impact which my unpaid leave could bring on my university.
My university, top ranked in the world, wrote a letter for me.
Channel — My state senate submitted the expedite request on my behalf with the letter.
I will welcome any questions.

@k p Thank you for the response. That is longer than I expected. Did you mean I may get my card in two weeks or hear any response from them? How long did you case take to get you an EAD card?

you may get your card in two weeks. i do not think it will hurt if you go to to SSN office today. I heard they can see if it’s coming or not.
my spouse SSN came the next day we received EAD card.
my other friend they waited 2 weeks for the card- nothing Came and they went to the SSN office. after they visited SSN office they received the card in a week. I think the original one from 485 did not work out.

@k p Thank you for sharing your experience and your friend's! It is very interesting to hear that at a SSN office, we can check if the card is on the way. I assume you mean the EAD card but not a SSN card (I already have one since I have been working more than 10 years in the US). I will definitely try it next week.

@David it’s so frustrating. I applied through congressman and recipient the approval on OCT 11th. i was expecting 7 days max to see an update but unfortunately it looks like i have to wait way longer

@E A Tell me about it! I had to leave my two jobs temporarily cuz my visa expired.
I was also thinking they will respond within 10 days. BTW, I looked at about 50 recent expedited cases. Although there are extreme cases, it seems it takes 14-18 days to see the next move. probably we will hear something this week. Fingers crossed 🤞. Otherwise, I will contact my senator’s office again. Please keep me updated if you see any change.

my expedite request was also approved on 10/18 and am also here anxiously expectant it's been a whole 15months. But let's be positive and good luck to us all🙏🏾

@Miracle I cannot believe they made you wait for 15 months! 😡I guess you case is employment based, right? Please keep me updated on your expedited case. I know we will get it eventually, but I hope it is sooner than later.

@E A My senator’s office quickly responded to my follow up request. Unfortunately, we have to wait maximum 45 days. If I do not hear anything in 45 days, they promised to launch a formal inquiry.
I talked with live USCIS infopass agents. One of them told me that usually USCIS officers respond within 30 days. It is not so expedient as I and also you expected. Have you heard anything from your congressman?

@David Cha it's vawa based but I applied for ead based on a pending i485. I concurrently filed

@David Cha my 6 years son EAD was approved on 26th but not mine 🤦🏻♂️ still waiting. hopefully next week

My expedited EAD is in dark….. maybe a long wait. Sorry for my university and students 😮💨

@David Cha i am not sure if i should celebrate. my son’s case was approved without expedite 🤦🏻♂️. so basically, if i didn’t file for expedite, i would have gotten mine on the same time

@E A. Haha! This is ridunkulous. Ya sure, USCIS, a six year old boy needs EAD more than us. Anyway, I am glad that your turn is up soon. I also may get my GC earlier than EAD. Keep me updated!

Goodmorning and Happy new year to everyone, I did submit my expedite request for my EAD on December 15th 2022 because am really going through a financial crisis and because of that my IRS payment or always delayed and interest added to them,from am paying my taxes in this country i never get a refund, it's really hard for me now,I just need encouragement from people that went through this process already or even waiting like me, I cried alot times knowing people you working for under the table and they take disadvantage and abuse you,please pray for me, while I pray for myself, thank you.
