What is the process after a case # is created at NVC for K1 visa?
For anyone who has gone through this process already... how long does it take to receive welcome letter from NVC after a case is created? Can we fill in ds-160 and schedule the interview? #129f #k1visa #nvc #k1

Wait for the welcome letter... between 15 and 90 days normally.

NVC will send letter and email once they are ready… they ask for payment first and once that is complete then you can start filing for DS-160.

Can someone tell me how long they waited for welcome letter once the I129F is approved? Because I have been waiting for more then 30 days.

@om adhikari it takes about 90 days Just to get NVC to create a case # for you. it seems NVC Welcome letter is taking another 30-60 days.

I applied for both …. my I-130 was approved first ….. took about a month total to get to document qualification

@J P it seems the i130 has more document requirements compared to i129f because 130 is immigrant visa and 129f is non immigrant visa. Which country are you applying or your beneficiary from?

Is there anyone who recently get welcome letters from NVC for I129F? I want to know how long it took to receive the welcome letter after USCIS approved their application.

@om adhikari I waited 90 days. kept emailing them, then I sent another inquiry email requesting my invoice and case number because it has been 90 days already and nothing. they responded to me with the information and now I’m able to fill my ds160 form. but the thing with them is that you need to wait at least 60 days

there is nothing wrong is filling ds160 now that we have nvc case #. keep logging every 30 days to make sure ds160 application ID is still active.

for Indian applicants I will say don't expect any welcome letter you won't get it..

@ A Borges I recently received the email from NVC and It says this: "The National Visa Center (NVC) recently received your immigrant visa petition from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Your petition is now waiting for data entry into our systems. Since your case is not in our systems yet, we cannot make updates. As soon as your case is in our systems, we will send a Welcome Letter and instructions. Then, if you still need help updating your case, you can contact us by using one of the methods listed on" What should I do.

@om adhikari it was at that spot for me about 3 weeks ago. Contact them in a week or so, they will respond with nvc case number.

I got noa2 on 23rd of Mar 2023...I made 2 inquiries to the NYC...got a response and they said they have sent my visa petition to the embassy or consulate..but no welcome letter yet ....please has anyone experienced this before?

@kate ib Reach out to your Congressman and also fill out the White House online inquiry form. That's what I had to do to receive answers. My NOA2 is also March 23, 2023. I received my welcome letter, July 3.
