once you login to your USCIS online account and it takes you to main page and on the top right where you see your name, you should see View Profile below your name. Go inside View profile where you will see your USCIS Online Account Number.

there is no button to the top right with my name for me to click on only “my account”, “resources” n “sign out”

i really don’t know how this works Mike, my profile already shows the online account number since my receipts number start with IOE . is there is reason you need this number?

I want to be able to see uscis updates online before waiting for mail to arrive

you can do that by creating a case in case status online https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/

just create an account- add your case and turn on both mobile and email alerts on

you can also add the paper filed case in my uscis - you won’t get alert there but you can see the most updated status
