case remains pending and the application is temporarily paused because a visa number is not immediately available
Hey forum,
I got this notification from USCIS today. My nationality is Taiwan and my pd is Feb 2023.
Is it possibe that they ran out of visa available so early in the year? or is this just a glitch in USCIS system?
Any information is appreciated 🥹

I think last time they announced that all numbers are used was in August for September visa bulletin. I think they will announce that in advance so you know it is exhausted. your priority date belongs to rest of world NOT China , right ?
Warren WangMar 22, 2025
yes, my pd is rest of the world.

@Warren Wang ,it can be either situation. But there is visa cap for each country, maximum of 7% or so. If it exhausted they will pause until visa number becomes available.Case remain pending is a positive direction. I can understand how waiting can be on our mental health.

you should get approved in next quarter.. just my theory from trends

Same thing happened to me. GC got approved after almost 2 months in Case Remains Pending status. dates would retrogress if visas are not available. just be patient and hopefully you should get approved soon.

not necessarily because visa ran out. Another reason could be Taiwan hit 7% country cap.
Warren WangMar 25, 2025
I have never heard that TW hit the 7% cap in the past. I really hope that’s not the case. Is there any place I can check if TW is capped?
