How long does it take to receive an i-485 decision after medical and supplement j RFE response is received by uscis? msc2190... series; RFE paper was pink in color and came from the KS office.

did you got 485J receipt after rfe response? once 485J come through, 485 will be adjudicated in 2-3 weeks

Thanks, Murali. No, I did not get the 485j receipt... I thought the next step would be the final decision. Does uscis update the online status when they send out the j receipt? or should I keep an eye on my mailbox? It

485J will have seperate case # compared to 485. It will come to your mailbox as paper copy after which you can track online

getting 485J receipt means some started looking into your 485 application & ready for adjudication.

Also, I sent out my medical and suppl j form in the same packet, and the uscis updated my online status, saying the tie of response was received on Sept 3rd, 2021. I wonder if they will send a separate 485j receipt in this case... 🤔

The other means is to live chat through EMMA & mention 485J not recv’d. They will place request so it will trigger & someone can look into your case for issuing it

yes, for 485j sent during initial submission, they send reciept when 485 ready for adjudication, based on other forums i read thru. 485 & 485J receipt are to seperate ones.

any reason why you didn’t submit 485J initially? for non-current filing, 485J is required. Just to avoid rfe in later stage.

I did submit it initially. But in rfe, they asked for it again. My attorney says it is usual practice for uscis to ask for supplement j again in RFE along with medical...
