I received the i-693 deficiency today too . a lot of people here are not receiving the Ead and just receiving the green card . I think maybe will happen the same .

My PD is 11/16/2020. I just received the I-693 deficiency notice yesterday. No biometric appointment scheduled yet. I did the medical exam last month.

please read the content of the letter carefully. if they want it now, send it now. if it says bring it with you to the interview then take it with you. not responding to request for evidence can cause your case to be denied. follow letter instructions please.

No. i693 is for medicals. yours needs more documents

No, that is not the same. Request for evidence (RFE/RFIE) asking for I-693 is different than I-693 deficiency notice. In RFE, they will ask you to send them the medical. In I-693 deficiency notice, they are only reminding you that you did not sent medical with the initial application and it will be required at the time of interwiev or if they will send later on actual RFE for medical.

After the biometric appointment, what follows is the interview? They received my application in April 2021 and today August I received the i693 deficit, wait another 4 months

I received "I-693 Deficiency notice" today. Not sure what it means and still confused. I did not receive any interview notice for I-485 or RFE. What will be my next step?

I-693 deficiency notice is just like a reminder for you that you did not submitt the medical with your AOS package and you have to bring it to your interview. You do not need to do anything at this point. The next step depends on the stage of your journey (we do not have enough information from your post to tell you that). For me it was: 11/2020 submitted AOS package, 02/2021 received I-693 deficiency notice, 07/19/2021 did my biometrics, 07/27/2021 case is ready to be scheduled for an interview, 08/04/2021 interview scheduled.

@veronica caisova, that’s really helpful. Did you also apply for EAD or ADP (I765 / I131) in your AOS package? If yes, what did that timeline look like? Thanks.

Hello Everyone I applied for my I-485 at the end of May 2021, got my biometrics appointment done back in July 12 2021. Today I got my I-693 deficiency letter do you guys know what should I expect next? I applied for my EAD and Travel permit at the same time with my I-485 application but it hasn’t been approved yet.

It will take some time to receive your work and travel permit. Currently, it takes average of 9 months to receive it. They are approving now November/December applicants. Now you will be just waiting for your I-485 case to be ready to be scheduled and then to get the actuall appointment scheduled. You can check with other people from the same local office as you to see how long approximately will take to have your appointment scheduled.
