Nikah Nama lost
I'm petitioning an IR5 for my parents, who are both elderly and got married 40 years ago. We can't find their Nikah Nama. I've visited all possible govt offices in hopes of finding it, including the suspected UC where they think it was filed, and also old record rooms of Karachi, but it is nowhere to be found.
Since a nikah nama is a requirement for pakistan, what is the best course of action? Has someone else faced this before? I've been advised to visit a qazi and draw up a new nikah nama with an affidavit from Nikah Registrar stating that the original is lost. It will not be the same Nikah Registrar as he has passed away.
Are there any success stories with similar situation as mine? And what has been done in those cases? And what has been the best course of action?

Thanks! I've already had the affidavits prepared and they're notarized and attested. Not sure if NVC would accept that.
How does preparing a new backdated nikah nama along with an affidavit from Nikah registrar sound?
