They will transfer the request to the embassy, and the the embassy will take the action, we had the same situation and they approved it

I sent an expedite to NVC since I'm also expecting and they didn't approve it, they ended up sending me the case number after two months

i send an expedite for the same reason, they didn’t approve I got an answer in4 days

i also tried to expedite my case for the pregnancy reason but they didn’t approve it!!

it is very rare that they approve at the NVC stage.. I was lucky to be approved but it is very rare.

I sent my expedite request for the same reason with Doc’s note 20 days ago and nothing so far.

That's weird that you haven't received any response they usually response whiting 2 or 3 days.

I requested an expedite on Friday (10/21/2022) and received an email on Tuesday (10/24/2022) that the request has been sent to the embassy, that the embassy would either approve or deny it but nvc said they would get back to me with the result within 30 days. what should I expect from them in this case?

The only expedite that NVC will accept is a medical emergency (pregnancy doesn't count as a medical emergency)

if you haven't received your case number, send them an email with all of the proofs that you have, they will reply whiting 4 days

I don't think you'll need send an expedite after receiving the Welcome letter, the embassy will contact once your case is ready to schedule the biometric and the interview

so I just want to say that it is not true that they only approve expedite with a medical reason. my reason was not medical and got approved right away. so you can always try and hope for the best! also.. it is not NVC that approves it even though it is at the NVC stage. it is the consulate or embassy that is linked to your case. it is up to their discretion. :)
