RFE Mail in and Online Response
Hello all,
My case is an i130 application for my husband. I received a request for evidence march 14 and I submitted the evidence by mail on March 26th. Now on my account on uscis website it says to upload evidence there, but the status has not changed to “evidence requested recieved” would uploading the document online interfere with what I mailed in? Not sure if I should wait until status changed to evidence recieved. Or if not uploading it online is the reason the status has not changed. Thank you for your help.

I was going to mail my letters but I summited online with my lawyer they get it right away and don’t have to be scared about having the papers lost I sent my evidence yesterday got approved the same day but don’t send yours online since you sent it in by mail it will make the agent working on your case confused

That is what I was also thinking because I tracked the documents I sent through mail and it says they were delivered but the status is the same. Thank you both for your help!

My rfe was asking for a translation of a document but it differs from case to case it can be something simple and direct or as broad as requesting evidence to prove the relationship is real, but it tells you specifically what they are asking you for on the letter!

can someone tell me what happens if my case still says ‘case received’ but they send me a RFE and I send the response, is it normal to not be updated or what can I do?

Hello everyone I just wanted to give an update on the inital question I asked. I spoke to an agent though the USCIS website and they notified me that I did not need to submit my RFE response online even though I already submitted through mail. However, they also said it would not negatively impact my case if I were to submit them online as well. I submitted my response online and within a few minutes my case status changed to RFE Response Received. Just in case anyone else is on the same boat!

think uploading online is much quicker. we submitted our response online and our status changed back to "actively reviewing" after 4 days

@Asma saleh for our case we submitted our marriage certificate from where we were married with English translation as it was originally in Spanish and pictures of our wedding day and family vacations. I believe also submitting pictures of you and your partner along with your child also helps to prove the marriage is real along with a joint bank account or proof of you two having both of your names on something like a house or other properties or accounts, showing letters or cards you have wittten to one another even screenshots of messages or screenshots of you two on video calls to each other, other social media postings of you two publically being a couple etc.

Hi! Has your case been approved yet? If so, how long after they received RFE did they approve? I had RFE for the same (English translation for marriage certificate).
