Speeding traffic tickets N400
Hi guys, I need to ask you for a serious opinion: my son, 27, is submitting his N-400 application next week, however, he has three (3) paid SPEEDING TRAFFIC TICKETS.
Are they a risk for N-400 denial? I would like to hear from you about this concern; probably you have heard similar cases and N-400 being approved.

no problem at all.

no problem as long as you reveal it in the N400 application and during the interview as well. Make sure to take receipts of the paid speeding tickets to the interview. Be honest in the application and during the interview. As long as it’s paid and you have proof, there should be zero issues.

just have him take the proof with him that he did in fact paid those speeding tickets because the officer maybe might ask

I had 3 tickets. paid them off. just keep the record of the tickets and the payment receipts. they never asked me anything about tickets at my interview

@Good Luck Everyone, thank you for your kind answer. The tickets were from 2017, 2018, and 2019. We have the ticket and municipal court decision and the ticket he paid. But we don’t have payment records of the other payments, but we do have an official certificate from DMV which says there is no citation or pending actions. The third ticket was paid online or by phone to MVD. There is no a physical receipt. I got an official record from them saying no citations and no actions.

@Good Luck Everyone, I have another question for you: did you include or mention the tickets in your N400 application or other application form?

Hello guys, my son’s N-400 application is ready to go, however, he shall get the court documents—about his traffic tickets in 25 days.
{I am assisting him to fill out the paperwork, he’s 24 years old}.
Now I am considering to submit his application before getting the court documents. Once I get those documents I will submit them as additional evidence.
Do you think it is a good idea to do so or just wait for another 25 days?
The reason I wanted to do so it’s because I am mindful cases are taking too long to moving forward. And I don’t want to waste my time since timeliness are long.
Let me know your concerns whether I wait for 25 days to have the court documents with me or send the N-400 application ahead of time, and then later send the documents as additional evidence. Thank you.

this is an n400 application. you don’t need the evidence for a speeding ticket in order to submit. u can always obtain the ticket payment confirmation and take it to the interview. the interview these days is between 4-9 months from
the day u submit ur application. just make sure u read it correctly and submit the documents they ask. in my application I didn’t mention I had a speeding ticket. and the officer didn’t ask. he asked if I have had a “ criminal investigation “ I said no. however just say u have been cited. that shouldn’t impact the application

Yes, @Good Luck Everyone; I understand. The n400 online application asks about court or citations information. And asks to attach court documents. My son went to court once for the speeding issue. That’s why we went to the municipal court to get his information. They will have the documents ready in 25 days—and I don’t want to wait so long to submit the online application. I want to submit copies of the documents later. Twenty five days I’d a lot to wait, especially when we know USCIS takes long to move forward.
