There’s no issues coming back into the US. Infact you can go to any country with the extension so far you’ll get visa. but going to Nigeria with your expired green card is not an issue

I traveled back home in Haiti with the extension letter with no problem

To make it clear to you ,going to Nigerian with expired green and your valid extension on Delta airline is no issue at all but with other airline they will not get you on board when you are returning to America. Only America airline(delta airline) can get you on board .

You will not have any issues at all. I’ve used my expired gc to travel to Nigeria several times

@moshood wahab I disagree with that tho because I used mine with another airline and I boarded and got back safely with no hassle.

I have traveled twice to Nigeria with extension letter no issues at all but pls have your old passport with you cos they tried to make it an issue for me

@flex acer that’s just by the way the bottom line is you can travel with your extension letter. that old passport is norms even if your passport isn’t expired. and even if you don’t have passport you can still travel to Nigeria with your extension letter, your expired green card and emergency travel certificate. so you’re good. I traveled with my extension letter 3 times last year to and fro

@flex acer Ofcourse they did. they need it basically when you’re coming back. they’ll be the one to even ask you for it after they scan your green card and see it’s expired. it’s normal for them to ask for tip so that’s out of it.

Make sure you don't book Lufthansa with expired GC and i797 notice. The Lufthansa lads in Naija wouldn't let you board. Delta and/or British Airways certainly work with i797 notices and expired GC...
