@Alone wolf USCIS held a conference and they announced these new changes, they’re trying to target fraud since VAWA cases have been reported to go up in the last years, and they’re absolutely right. Some attorney/ people are really abusing the system and making it harder for people with actual cases.

@Tom Bom So instead of being interviewed for the 485 under vawa the interview will be from vawa to decode for 485 I imagine it won't be 2 interviews! is not bad at all the only bad is the 4 years we are waiting is unbelievably unfair for real vawa victims

@Romeo riv online it shows they conduct interviews only people who have i485 and i360 not standalone i360 application and does this vawa interview rule applies to exciting applicants too or only new filers

@chris rod new and old cases! I’m just curious about how these officers are trained to deal with abuses cases, it’s a very sensitive topic and hopefully they do a good job targeting just fraud cases.

i only submitted vawa. that means i wont have an interview ? only once i get vawa approved and file I485?

@chris rod if your spouse is a GC holder you can only file I-360 and have to wait for approval to then file I-485 so that's why. @Sandra I Dios es bueno. that's right. You'll have to wait for the I-360 approval

@chris rod they're only selecting some cases and calling persons for interviews who filed both the I-360 and I-485 together. They're not calling anyone for interviews who filed I-360 only. According to the update they'll go on to process the I-485 if vawa approved but not sure if there will be a second interview. It seems there might be a 2nd interview and everything else will remain the same. They just want to make sure in person that these are legit vawa cases

@Kerry S ok got it I have filed 485 and 360 together so I was curious to know there wil be one or two interview for vawa and also 485 I got your point you are telling that only few people who have field 485 and 360 together are being called for the interview for 360 if not there would be no interview for 360 im I getting it right

I filed for both I-360 and I-485, I’m ready for any interview. All that is needed is to tell the interviewer what happened. They shld reduce the waiting time bcos it’s too stressful for those of us that were abused both physically and emotionally .

@chris rod that's correct. If you have a solid case you likely won't get called for a vawa interview. Just the shady ones or the ones that they are unsure of. They will continue as before with the other applications. I can't say I have a problem with this change. People abuse these privileges all the time and make it bad for the actual victims.

@AUG 22 I agree. They should process these things faster. 3-5 years with limited rights and mobility is making a stressful situation worse, and there are many persons who can't even work.
