For how long did you wait for VAWA? I-485 RFE might be just simple.

@srt kaa, that same happened to me... they applied my fingerprints again on the same day of approval. but I notice this on my USCIS account, that update was not shown on Lawfully!

my vawa was approved on 23rd of jan, and my i485 says finger print was i applied to my case, please how long do I have to wait for my case to be transfer to my local office, am really stress on this thing, since 2019, and priority date on my approval notice say may 10th 2012

The RFE is about birth certificate. I had submitted english translated birth certificate upon filing I-485. I don’t know how they need.

I just recieve an update on my case saying we sent you a initial request for evidence, pls does anyone knows what that could be, am just tired.......

@srr kaa how long did it take the get the RFE? My VAWA was approved in May 2022 and nothing heard again until today when my attorney said they issued an RFE for my 485. I’m surprised and wondering what the RFE could possibly be. I requested that he send me a copy in my email so hopefully in the morning. But just wanting to know what kind of RFE they request for.

@Grace, yes, it was for medical. So the letter said to get it to them via express mail asap to decide on my case. I will keep updating.

@all This is Lady Kim who posted earlier, seems like I lost my first account and have to create another. An RFE was issued in my case sometime in March, and that was for medical. Meanwhile, my new attorney had just turned in a change of attorney request since the former attorney left the chamber, and the letter came in the firmer attorney’s name. I did my Medical and sent to them in less than a week which was on the 13th of March. My new attorney traveled. So it took them two weeks to email this response. I didn’t know until they sent me a bill since they bill me monthly, so I was mad and criticized their lapses, and unprofessional attitude. They also prepared my EAD renewal application which they are supposed to turn in by June. I told them I won’t pay for that since my case have a higher chance of being approved before June. So from the $1,600+ they billed me, it came down to 500+. I’ve actually known a long time they were billing me in excess but school didn’t let me focus on reading the statement, until this year. So they finally managed to turn in my medical to USCIS on 4th of April, that same day, they received another letter for RFE but this time, in my current attorney name with an extension to send all evidence in by June 30th. They did state that I should use express mail but didn’t assure me that they will process it faster rather noted that the earlier they get it, the better. So when my attorney notified me about new RFE on April 10th, I freaked out, and asked if I was going to do a new one, questioned why it took extra time to mail the old one. But she said no need to worry, that I don’t have to send anything again. She also said that she did confirm that USCIS received the one she sent. On the 19th, I checked my status, and it says your new card has been mailed to the address on file, if you do not receive it by May 4, request for a new card through…. (A link). I don’t know if my attorney is aware that my case has been approved since she didn’t say anything yet or maybe waiting to get the card before telling me. Hopefully the card comes in by next week. Other updated when I logged in said card ordered on 15th Case approved on 18th Card mailed on 19th. Finger printing received on November 22. I will update once I get my card in hand. This has been a long tough journey for me, but in between, I pushed on. Wishing everyone a smooth process.

Hello family After sending my rfe which was BC, USCIS sent a notice which was return back to uscis on April 24th due change of attorney, after calling several times they finally sent me i693 notice Which states that you will be required to submit information and evidence to address these deficiencies * if you recieve an interview notice inthe mail u must bring the information and evidence * if your case does not require an interview u will recieve rfe with further instructions I really don't get it, so I should for my interview to be scheduled b4 I send the i693 or what.... pls help me
