What happens after I-129f approval?
Hi, there’s a lot of talk and opinions on what happens after I-129f (K1) approval. And those opinions don’t match. Please speak with facts! What happens and what should I do after approval? #129f #k1

Well, immediately after approval your case gets sent to the NVC to be processed. A case number is created, you can either wait for NVC to email it to you or you do a public inquiry about 2 weeks after and ask for it yourself. About 2-4 weeks after that your case gets sent to the US consulate in your country for further processing, then your case status will say “READY”. You’ll have to wait 1-3 weeks again for the US consulate to email you with a welcome letter/ instructions packet telling you how to proceed with filling out your DS-160 and scheduling a medical. People don’t tend to wait on the instructions packet to fill out the DS-160 however, as soon as their case says “ready” they fill it out. And remember all these time frames vary with country, this is just the best estimate assuming things are moving fast.
