u won't get a c31 EAD until your vawa is approved and that could take app. 3 years

I actually saw two people getting their C31 approved at 12 months and 14 months vawa.

the c31 is attached to your vawa. it only gets approved when the vawa case is approved

@sam Dami exactly, there's no way c31 can be approved before vawa

I filed Wawa in January 2021 and it was approved in May 2024 and I got my C31 work permit in June 2024. Now my C9 work permit will expire in January so I will have to use my .C31 until my green card is approved. The wait is not easy but ask God for patience and grace
